I wanted to add built-in shelves to my home office but with wood being as expensive as it is, I did not want to pay for plywood. After evaluating the famous "Billy" Bookcases at Ikea, I had an idea to transform them into custom built-ins! I'm glad to say the idea worked, and I spent less than $300 on the whole project! Details on this project below.👇🏼 For more projects, check out fieldtreasuredesigns.com/blog/

Andrew - upgrade to Festool? They are in my opinion worse than Makita. However a good instructional video on using the rails. Thank you!
I don’t want to upgrade to festool. I’ve been extremely happy with my Makita! I just hope Makita continues to develop good products in North America.
How do you get it to work? If an old a 100 year man with stood on a ladder and pissed on my head, i would have got better pressure.
Not sure I can help you there. Lol
Thank you!! mine didn’t have instructions either
Wow I have heard this a lot. Glad it helped!
Hi. Love this video! Very helpful! Question: any particular reason u removed veneer and sanded the doors only but not the cabinets? Im starting mine soon and would like to know if the removal and sanding made a difference?.. I was planning on just starting w/ primer 😂
Thanks! We did that because it was peeling. The other areas weren’t peeling and don’t have that veneer so we left them alone. The reason the veneer needed peeled is because it would be obvious even with paint and it doesn’t sand well. Hope that helps.
Im stuck between the 45 and the 52. Im more concerned about the durability of the 52. What are your thoughts on the rigidity of it?
It’s very rigid in my opinion and would hold up well!
Awesome thank you! I've been back and forth between the two and that helps. @@diywithandrew
Nice
Thanks!
No matter how I tried, I couldn't get the nozzles to attach -- until I saw you attaching them in the video. Thanks!
I’m so glad it helped!!
I have a Ryobi with the same rotating nozzle and it alternates between rotating and just a fixed stream. Not sure why it doesn't rotate constantly as designed but I ended up just using a fixed spray nozzle for the high pressure work.
Nice!
okay, great update.
Thanks!
its june 2024 now. how does it look today?
A few spots it’s chipped just because we are in and out of there everyday but overall great. Here’s an update video to check out: Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later ruclips.net/video/1RouFd5c4YU/видео.html
@@diywithandrew okay, thanks!
Fantastic video!
Thanks!
Where did you get those legs from? I like those
Thanks! They are custom from one of my woodworking friends who does incredible work. amosapproved.com
Love the idea, how did you get around the static issues with the duststopper?
Thanks! I’ve never had much issue with the static.
Great video thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I got $8/sq.ft quote from Epoxy guy to do my garage. So total cost would be 8 x 350 sq.ft = $2800.
Sounds like a pretty good quote for $8 a square foot. Just make sure you know exactly what they will use and what the finished product will be. At that price I would ask to see another finished job they have done to verify the quality.
Excellent video!!!!
Thank you!
Directions were missing!!! Thank you for the video! Some hero's don't wear capes!!!!!!
Haha. Glad it helped.
What size rigid vac are you using, clicked the link and it comes up as not available.....
Unfortunately the model I used is now discontinued I believe.
If you want to do two coats of the clear, how long should you wait before applying the second coat? do you know?
I do not but would guess 24/48 hours?
Can be a very professional, he is wearing sandals 😢
I am wearing sandals because I am not a professional and this is my garage. 😊
Seeing as though you only used 1/2 of the pouch of non-skip chemical... do you feel like that was enough?
I believe the pouch was just sand and yes I am happy with the amount I used. Thanks for watching.
This is the one I’m going to build. Most practical, and makes the most sense for my situation. Thank you for sharing! Subbed! 👍
Awesome! I wish you the best on your project.
Etching in flip flops!! Epic
Haha!
I etched my garage barefoot yesterday, Im a legend🤦♂️
Too much work, but I get your desire for an excellent final product.... As a woman, yes, a protective TOP COAT is required for longevity & protection😂 We learned this at the nail salon😂
Haha that’s funny. Thanks for watching and the great comment.
Also curious what the dimensions are. Thanks!
The dimensions are provided in my downloadable plans via the link in the show notes below the video.
Thank you. you have inspired me to try this myself on a brand new garage. stay tuned :)
Awesome!
Hello, what are the dimensions for this? I need to see if the long side will fit...
Hi there, the dimensions are in my downloadable plans via the link in my show notes below the video.
I bought and downloaded it but I don't see the long side length. Is it 105.5 in?
This is excellent ! My is white! How can I get that panel?
Thanks! It’s just a piece of wood and then you can paint it.
I appreciate you videos. I have the same camper. I am curious of you guys still use it and where everyone sleeps. I find it can be crowded at times with my family. Curious if you are still happy with your pup.😊
Thanks! Oh yeah we love it. About to take it out this weekend. We sleep two on each side and one on the dining bench fold down twin. All good there! The only thing that bugs me is having to lift up dining seats for stuff in storage but hey it is what it is right?
Fantastic! You and your wife did a wonderful job!! If I may ask, how is the floor holding up two years later? Any issues with hot tire pickup? Heavily considering doing this same project in my garage and am debating between this and Rustoleum’s polycuramine (Rock Solid) or even Rust Bullet. Thanks again for all of your hard work in creating this video and sharing your work.
Hey thanks for your kind words. I actually have a follow up video that should answer your questions! // Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later ruclips.net/video/1RouFd5c4YU/видео.html
@@diywithandrew Terrific! This helped a great deal. Thank you so much for your time and for responding to my comment. All the best to you!
@@joelpowell9235 You bet! Thanks again for watching and jumping in. I wish you the best!
The phone number on the instruction booklet is no longer functioning. Ugh! I emailed their customer service but haven’t heard back after several days. Do you have a contact # for PuraFlame?
Dang! I sure don’t. Maybe a Google search?
The company responded today via email. Hope they can help me. Thanks for responding!
6/10/2024 My 30” Western PuraFlame electric fireplace stopped working! I put a new battery in the remote, checked the plug in, and circuit breaker. No luck & no power? Help! Could it be a fuse?
Oh man that’s not good! Hoping someone here can help or maybe you can try to contact them directly?
Nice job! How has the paint held up?
Thanks! Pretty well! Some scratches where we had to paint on plastic but no big deal.
Thanks brother and sister...very nice job
Thank you!
There is no way you did all that trimming in 10 minutes! Absolutely not!!
I can’t remember at this point but if I said that’s how long it took then that’s how long it took. lol
So, if one buys just one 55 in track, how can one trim the rubber?
Use a steady hand on both sides.
@@diywithandrew Thanks for the reply. It was not as detailed as I hoped it would be, but I realized that you likely used the two guide method and might not have actually trimmed using just one. Do you have any recommendations regarding Blades? Going from thinner to thicker and back - do I need to replace the rubber strip each time?
how long and how much did you spend?
Can’t remember the cost. Probably took us a week?
Great video. I’d probably recommend wearing shoes with all the chemicals in play.
Thanks! And yeah absolutely should have done that. Thankfully I stayed safe.
Ah yes, “install” but skip the calibration part……
Yeah I guess I missed that part on the video. Hopefully some of it was helpful
Neat mailbox. Amazon? Can you make a video on it’s construction
Thanks! Yes I bought the new mailbox from Amazon. Here’s the link amzn.to/45cxama .. and here’s the video of making the stand: Modern Mailbox Makeover ruclips.net/video/_LGIz6kTcyU/видео.html
@@diywithandrew thx a lot. Simple and elegant, I will do the same. Subscribed!
Thanks for the video. Now that you're a couple of years in, perhaps you can answer a question for me: Are you concerned at all about sealing the limewash? Everything I've read about limewash is that it's difficult to keep clean in the kitchen, largely because you can't really scrub it down to remove grease. I just finished limewashing brick walls in my kitchen and are trying to figure out if I need to seal it or not. I even contacted Romabio and they've been less than helpful, recommending a sealing product they don't even sell yet.
Great question! We were also wondering about doing a seal. We haven’t had many issues at all other than a few spots around the sink from water splashes. We just touched it up with white paint and you can’t even tell. I don’t think you’ll regret doing a matte clear coat on it to make it wipeable but I don’t know if it’s much of an issue to justify that step. I’m sure it depends on your usage in the kitchen. Hope that helps!
@@diywithandrew Thanks for the response! My concern is mainly with grease and food spatter rom a range top. I have a copper backsplash directly behind the range, but the brick is on the same wall and splatter happens. According to Romabio, sealers will oftentimes cause yellowing from a reaction with the limestone. They just gave me a recommendation yesterday for something that customers have told them seems to work without yellowing: Modern Masters Decorative Painter's Dead Flat Varnish. I'm going to try it out. I'll respond again a few months in to give people a heads up as to how it seems to have worked.
I wish you showed how to put the tight nozzle on because I can’t figure that out
Whoops! It should just be the same way as the other one?
@@diywithandrew nope. the long black is insert and then twist. that doesnt work at all with the tight nozzle. instructions say push and im pushing as hard as i can and its not going in.
Great job, it looks great!!
Thank you!
Awesome video! Thank you...
Thanks!
Great instructions. FedEx broke my package open and my instructions were missing so this really helped. Also quick and easy to follow since you had done it before.
Glad this was able to help!
i’m 66 and exhausted watching this,i ain’t doin it😮💨
I’m 62. And I agree with you. Ain’t doing it either.
Haha! Totally get that.
@@diywithandrew Let’s get Andrew to do it; he’ll do anything. It’s definitely a job for a young man.
I have to agree and Im much younger!!!😂
😂😂😂
I won’t have glued in the first place just in case you want to make changes later friction fit non pressurize pipe no problem
Great tip!
Great video! Which nozzle did you use for your car, I must have missed it. Thanks!
Thanks! The black one.
Looks great
Thanks!
If the hardwired connection will be exposed to rain or snow, be sure to add a drip loop.
Great tip! Mine is located under the eve and not exposed to the elements but others may need to consider this.
